Buying Shoes Online


We want to make shopping online with as simple as possible so just follow these steps...

Browse by department

Wherever you are on the site you can browse by department using the navigation menu across the top of the page. Simply click on the appropriate heading to see styles in that department.

Looking for shoes in a certain category

You can go straight to the department you are interested in by clicking on one of the headings in the navigation menu at the top of the page (e.g. 'Women’s', 'Men’s', ‘BIOM’, ‘Golf’, ‘Sale’, ‘Accessories’, etc).  Once in that department you can narrow your search by using the category links and filters on the left hand side of the page, including size, colour and price.

Alternatively, by hovering over the headings (e.g. 'Women’s', 'Men’s', ‘BIOM’, ‘Golf’, ‘Sale’, ‘Accessories’ etc.) in the navigation menu at the top of the page you can see sub-headings which lead you straight to further categories - e.g. for 'Womens' you can narrow your search with categories such as 'Boots' or 'Casual'.  Our main Women’s category is broken down by Shoes, Boots & Sandals.  Within each of those categories, you can choose to look at Dress (formal), Casual or Outdoor styles.  Our main Men’s category is split into Shoes, Boots & Sandals (depending on season).  Within the Shoes and Boots Categories, we have sub-categories for Business (formal), Casual or Outdoor styles.

Once you have chosen a category, you can narrow your search even further by using the filter options to the left of the page. These allow you to search our products using one or several criteria, e.g. price, technical feature, colour and style. 

Search for a specific style

If you know the name or product number of the style you are looking for, you can type this into the white search box at the top left hand side of the page (next to the ECCO logo) and clicking on the magnifying glass logo next to it.

A list of the style (or styles) that match your search will then appear. If you only know part of the product name, e.g. 'Track', products that may match your search will appear, e.g. the styles 'Track II' or 'Track 6'. You can also search by six digit product code (eg: 001944), or by inputting part of a product code.

Choosing a style

After you have narrowed your search using the category or search options on the left hand side of the page, you will be presented with a list of styles.

Each product on the list will have a photographic image, the name of the style and it's price.

To learn more about a particular product simply click on the image to see its product page. These product pages will enable you to see a larger image of the style, plus alternative views of the product from different angles, all with a zoom facility.

Here you'll also find a written description of the style, and information about its construction – e.g. material, fastenings, heel height (if applicable). If any technologies have been used in the style, for example Gore-tex, you can click on the links in the written text to visit a page which explains these in more detail.

Stock availability of the style will also be visible on these pages. If a size is available, the box with the size in will be white and when you click on the size, the pale yellow box below the sizes will state ‘in stock’. Alternatively, this box may show that the size is out of stock but available on a back-order facility, for delivery in a stated time.  If it is out of stock, the box with the size in will be grey in colour, with a cross running through it.

Placing an order

When you have found the style you would like to order, you can check the sizes that are available which are shown to the right of the product image, underneath the price.  All sizes will be shown in UK sizing if your IP address is within the UK, or in European sizes if you are outside the UK.  However, you can click on the ‘view EU sizes’ or ‘view UK sizes’ link, which is shown just above the sizes.  If the size you want is in stock, and you would like to order it, simply click on the size box you want and then select the quantity in the box below, which is set to ‘1’ as a default – you can adjust the quantity by using the up or down arrows next to the quantity box. Then click on the blue ‘add to basket’ button to the right of the quantity box.  

Once you have done this a 'your selection has been added’ pop-up box will appear (with a small image of the shoe you have ordered and its price) to confirm your selection.

From this box you can go directly to the checkout (by clicking on the 'checkout now' blue button), or you can continue shopping (by clicking on the ‘continue shopping’ grey button).

Once you have selected a product and ordered in this way, you can view it by clicking on the 'Your Basket' at the very top right of the page. From this page you can proceed directly to the checkout.  

Checking out

Your basket
At the checkout (which can be accessed by clicking on the 'Your Basket' link, or the basket logo, at the very top right of the page), you will see a summary of the item(s) you have placed in your shopping basket.  Here you can add a promotional or voucher code (if applicable) in the box on the top left hand side of the screen (under the ‘Your Basket’ text) and click on the ‘apply discount button’ to the right of this. 

On the ‘Your Basket’ page, the product total amount will be displayed (in British pounds) to the right of the screen. For Express Delivery (within mainland UK only), any applicable delivery charge will be shown at the next stage.

Then you can proceed directly to the checkout, via the blue 'checkout >>' button on the bottom right hand side.

Step 1 - Your Details

To proceed with your purchase by registering an account with, you can first enter your email address and log in to your account (if you already have one) by entering your password in the ‘Do you have a password’ section underneath – click on ‘Yes, my password is’, enter the password and then click on the blue ‘continue’ button.  Alternatively, if you do not have an account but want to create one, firstly enter your email address and then click on ‘No, I am a new customer’ and enter your chosen password and click on the blue ‘continue’ button and complete your details.

If you would prefer to check out without creating an account, click on the grey ‘checkout as a guest’ button under the Guest Checkout’ heading on the right hand side of the page, then complete your details and click on the blue ‘continue’ button.

You will then be asked to complete and check your billing details.  Here you can edit your billing name and address details and then click on the blue ‘next’ button at the bottom of the page.

Step 2 - Delivery Details

You will be asked for the address you wish your goods to be delivered to. You can choose for your item(s) to be despatched to your billing address (select ‘use billing address’), or an already-stored address you have entered previously, or enter a new one using the name and address boxes below. You can also enter any special delivery instructions for the delivery driver (maximum 48 characters).  When you are happy that the delivery details are correct, you can click on the blue ‘next’ button at the bottom of the page.

Step 3 - Delivery Options

This part of the checkout shows your delivery options.  If your delivery address is within mainland UK, you can select Standard delivery or Express delivery.  Please select your preferred option and then click on the blue ‘next’ button.

Step 4 - Check Order

This part of the checkout allows you to review your order and shows the item(s) you have ordered (product reference, name, colour, size and quantity) and the delivery method as well as the costs and any promotional discounts that have been applied.  Once you are happy that the details are correct, please select your payment method (either ‘Pay by Credit / Debit Card’ or ‘Pay by PayPal’ or the ‘Pay By Phone’ option) and then click on the blue ‘confirm & pay’ button on the bottom right hand side of the page.

It is worth mentioning that you can make secure payment online by these major credit cards:  Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Maestro.  In addition to these cards, we are also able to accept payment by Amex for orders paid for by phone. 

Step 5 – Secure Payment

You will be taken to a page headed 'Enter Card Details'.    Your billing address details will be pre-filled into the form.  Please type in your debit or credit card number, expiry date, valid from date (if present), issue number (if present) and your card security code (the last three digits on the signature strip.  When you have completed all the required details, click on the grey ‘proceed’ button at the bottom right hand side of the page.

A confirmation of your order will appear on the screen. You will see your order reference number beginning ‘ES’ (which will also be emailed to you) in order for you to track your order via the 'My account' page.

Orders over £40 will be delivered to mainland UK destinations within two working days of your order (for standard delivery). You will be notified via email when your goods have been despatched.

Making a return
